• Welcome Freshmen Families

Future Hornets and Future Hornet Parents:

Congratulations!  Next fall you will become a Pemberton Township High School Hornet or Hornet Parent!  As you are deciding what classes to enroll in as a freshman, we are hopeful that you will consider being a part of the Pemberton Township High School Band Department.

Participation in music is a recognized predictor and indicator of student success in and after high school. When you choose to enroll in the band at Pemberton Township High School, you will rub elbows on a daily basis with other students passionate about success, both academically and artistically. Simply put, you will be joining a family that values excellence as a standard operating procedure, and that pursues excellence with passion, no matter what the endeavor. In the last four years, many of our student leaders have participated in performing ensembles here at PTHS. We have even had a homecoming king and queen who were members of the band and choir. What does that mean? It means because your student participates in music, they have a much better chance of doing well in school and won’t miss out on anything, period.

In addition to the wide variety of classes that PTHS offers, you’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a large number of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities at the high school. As a freshman, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in our volunteer marching band, our jazz ensembles, Hornet Brass Band, Woodwind Ensemble, pit band, indoor percussion, and guard. You are free to do as many or as few of these as you want.

The concert band is the gateway class to all things band.  All incoming freshmen should select “Concert Band” when they sign up for classes, and no audition is required.  Once all students are signed up under “Concert Band”, your guidance counselor will then place you in either a full block concert band (preferred) or a skinny concert band. There is virtually ALWAYS a way to “fit band” into your schedule, despite what it may look like at first; feel free to ask your guidance counselor questions. They are there to help you. If you are told you cannot “fit band” in your schedule, ask the guidance counselor to email or call Mr. Quattrochi at rquattrochi@pemb.org or ext. 1817

I look forward to having you in the program next year!  Please feel free to contact me at any time.

    Take Care,

     Mr. Ray Quattrochi

    Director of Bands

    Pemberton Township High School
