JLAB stands for JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl and has two teams: the academic team and the leadership team. These teams compete in III levels. These levels are designed to test the teams' knowledge in academics, leadership, and the JROTC curriculum. Level III takes the teams to Washington, D.C. to compete in JLAB nationals. The events run back to back, with the Leadership and the Academic Bowl happening at the same time. In phases l and ll, cadets will study the given materials and take online tests so they can make it to the next phase. Note that cadets can only compete in one team each year. They cannot switch teams during the competition season. For example, moving from the academic team to the leadership team and vice versa.
