I am very excited to join the team at Helen Fort Middle School as a Science Teacher.  I am a lifelong learner and educator, though a scientist by training having earned a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences.  I hail from the midwest; born and raised in Minnesota.  Prior to joining the team here, I have had the opportunity to teach at the middle school, high school, and college levels after spending many years in the world as a molecular biologist. My teaching experiences have brought me around the U.S. including time in California, Oregon, Philadelphia, and now NJ - I have saved the best for last! 

I first moved to the east coast and settled in Philadelphia in 2018 working as a research scientist at Temple University. While I have always loved research, I discovered my true passion is teaching.  In 2022 I moved to NJ and began exploring my permanent career change as a secondary school teacher.  I am thrilled to serve our students and hope to continue to spark their interest in STEM, as my teachers did for me many years ago.  As a resident of Pemberton Township I look forward to serving our community.
