Mr. Jay A. Morris
Mr. Jay A. Morris became the proud Interim Principal of Fort Dix Elementary School in September 2024. Mr. Morris has been an educator for over 39 years. Before retirement and most recently, Mr. Morris held the position of Director of Elementary Education for the Hamilton Township School District (Mercer County) for seven years. Prior to that, he served as Principal in several elementary schools in Hamilton over the span of 11 years. He also served as Vice Principal for five years at Grice Middle School before becoming a Principal. Currently, Mr. Morris works as an adjunct Supervisor at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) supervising student teachers, and Rider University helping prepare graduating student teachers with interviewing skills and preparedness. Mr. Morris also works as a mentor to new principals in the State of New Jersey for the NJ DOE through a process facilitated by the NJL2L Program.
Mr. Morris will continue working with district curriculum supervisors to organize meaningful professional development opportunities for the Fort Dix staff, and work to identify other learning and leadership opportunities for the students and families in the Fort Dix Elementary School community.
As an educator for many years, Mr. Morris remains enthusiastic about serving the students and their families at the Joint Base. He understands how important of a role the school plays within our community to ensure the children of our service members are receiving a quality education. This will certainly prepare them with the life-long skills necessary for becoming successful young adults in a 21st-century society.
