I am very excited to be the S.T.E.A.M. and Coding teacher for Helen Fort Middle School. This is my tenth year teaching and my fifth year teaching at Helen Fort. I love being involved in the school community! This year I am excited about being the assistant field hockey coach, assistant softball coach, one of the robotics advisors, the STEAM club advisor, and a member of the musical directors' team! I am also extremely excited to be using a new curriculum for Coding called Computer Science Discoveries. This curriculum is perfect for introducing students to various types of coding and problem-solving strategies! The 7th grade STEAM students will be focusing on using science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math to gain a better understanding of crime scene investigation. The 8th grade STEAM students will be focusing on various topics throughout the school year, including game probability and design, designing habitats and participating in Genius Hour.
