School Year 2020-2021

Dear Parent/ Guardian:

Please be advised that every student in the middle school receives one marking period of Health and Family Life Education, beginning in their 6th grade year.

On the reverse side of this letter is a list of general topic areas that will be addressed for grade level 6. The complete curriculum is available in our school for your review.

The New Jersey Statute governing this curriculum is 18A:35-4.7, which reads as follows:

Any child whose parent or guardian presents to the school principal a signed statement that any part of the instruction in health, family life education or sex education is in conflict with his/her conscience, or sincerely held moral or religious beliefs shall be excused from the portion of the course where such instruction is being given and no penalties as to credit or graduation shall result thereof.

If you wish your child to be excused from any part of the Health Curriculum, please fill out the back of this letter and return the form to the Main Office as soon as possible

Sincerely,

Ashley B. Walulak

Principal
