     Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

In the month of October, Emmons School will be working on the character trait of Respect. It is important to teach students to respect themselves and others. Below are some helpful hints on what you can teach your child at home about being Respectful

     Respect means…

Follow the Golden Rule (treating others the way you want to be treated)

    • Be tolerant and accepting of differences
    • Use good manners
    • Be considerate of the feelings of others
    • Deal peacefully with anger, insults, an disagreements

You are being respectful when you…

Are quiet when someone is talking or answering a question

    • Are careful with some else’s belongings
    • Are not making fun of someone
    • Are not spreading rumors about people
