Mrs. Erica Sheehan

Dear Families:

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! My name is Erica Sheehan and I am the speech-language pathologist working with students at Haines and Harker-Wylie. I am very much looking forward to working with those of you I had the pleasure of knowing last year, and getting to know the new children and families this year.

This is my third year working in Pemberton Township, and my sixth year as a speech-language therapist working in the academic setting. During speech-language sessions, the students and I will work hard to accomplish their goals while striving to keep activities fun and engaging. Students who practice their skills frequently and in many environments will make faster progress, and I fully welcome and invite parent participation and engagement in this therapeutic process.

Each student will be provided with a speech folder, and practice work will be provided in the folder as your child progresses to target new skills and activities. Please complete the homework with your child to continue to practice the skills we work on in school, and sign the homework in the noted area. Your child will earn a sticker for every parent signature, which they will use to work towards a prize or reward. These activities are aimed to take less than 5 minutes, and should be done at least once, but can be done as often as possible! Additionally, there will be a note area in the folder which can be used to keep communication open. Please feel free to share any questions, suggestions or concerns that arise throughout the year.

I am here to answer speech and language development questions related to our students. If families have questions or concerns regarding their child's development but the child does not yet receive services, feel free to contact me. I am best reached by email at, and conferences can be scheduled for the phone or in person. I look forward to the year ahead of us!
