• Isaiah Haines Lower Elementary School (Formerly Aletta Crichton)

Students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade are housed at a two-building campus serving over 600 students in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township, New Jersey. The Aletta Crichton Lower Elementary School is a preschool through grade 2 school, while the Upper Elementary building (Alexander Denbo) serves students in grades 3 through 5. In both buildings, we are committed to academic excellence, as well as the well-rounded social development of our students. We take great pride in our many innovative instructional and developmental practices, which enable us to provide educational experiences for our students that are of the highest caliber. We continually focus on the improvement of reading, math, and writing skills, and we infuse technology throughout the curriculum. Interactive SMART Boards, SMART Tables and iRovers are commonly used in lessons, and students learn new technology skills in the school's computer labs.

While providing students with an outstanding educational program, every staff member strives to foster positive self-esteem in students. We celebrate our cultural diversity and individual differences, and cultivate a feeling of community and belonging within our school. As the "port of entry" school for our district's bilingual and ELL population, we provide a comprehensive program in which language acquisition skills are an integral part of daily instruction for identified students. Respect, kindness, perseverance, self-control and honesty have been infused in our daily instructional program in order to help our children develop into responsible adults and good citizens.

The generous involvement of parents in the classroom, as well as in the Parent Teacher Organization, continually helps to foster the growth and development of our entire educational program.
