Busansky Upper Elementary School Safety Patrol
Welcome to our page!I am excited to continue the implementation of the AAA Safety Patrol Program for the 2024-2025 school year.
The primary purpose of the program is to enhance the safety of our students, staff and guests. In addition, the program promotes the development of leadership skills, mentorship, good citizenship qualities and sound academic skills.
A few of the roles a safety patrol carries out are to model for students the safety rules that have been taught in the classroom, to assist students in safe transitions throughout the building, to assist student walkers and bikers across streets as they arrive and depart school and to assist the bus driver with bus passenger safety procedures.
Patrols receive training and instructions on safety guidelines and procedures during initial training and regularly at patrol meetings. Patrol leadership (Officers) receive leadership and mentoring training as well as Conflict Resolution & Peer Mediation training in addition to the regular safety patrol training.
Here is where you will find information about our School Safety Patrol. The calendar will be regularly updated with meeting dates/times & other events the patrol may have going on. Please check it often. You will find photos in the picture section for you to enjoy, and our AAA newsletter as well as our school safety newsletter will be linked here as well.
NEW THIS YEAR:
We are excited to announce the incorporation of Sandy Hook Promises' Start With Hello program into our Safety Patrol program!
The Start With Hello program empowers students in grades K-12 to recognize loneliness and social isolation in their peers, offering effective strategies to reach out and help, and ways they can grow an empathetic and inclusive community.
I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the Safety Patrol for another year and I look forward to working with you and your children.
All communications with the patrol and parents will be exclusively through the SeeSaw program.
If you have any questions about your child’s participation in the Safety Patrol, please contact me.
