Hi, I am a reading interventionist teacher here at Howard L. Emmons Elementary School. I've been a teacher for 18 years. Most of my teaching experience has been in second grade. I taught second grade for 10 years. One year, I had the opportunity to teach a third grade class. My current position is a reading interventionist. I've been a reading interventionist teacher for the past 7 years. I love teaching phonics and reading strategies to my young students. Currently, I work with students in kindergarten, first, and second grade.
In 2016, I earned my Masters Degree in Reading. I'm very excited to use all the skills and strategies I learned in graduate school. This is my fifth year teaching Fundatations to our students. It's a great program that will teach our students phonological and phonemic awareness, sound mastery, letter formation, vocabulary, high frequency words, fluency, and handwriting. I definitely believe, we will have a successful school year!
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn.
