Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Mimi Ciesielski

Welcome to my home page! My given name is Maryellen, but everyone calls me Mimi. I currently reside in Medford, New Jersey with husband Don  and my two cats, Ronday and Tiki, who are named for the former football players. Most importantly, I am a Giants fan!  I am the mother of 3 grown men and just recently became a grandmother! I am an empty nester. All my sons have moved from home and are thankfully gainfully employed!

I have been teaching for 20 plus years. I have been teaching in Pemberton Township since 2007.  When Pemberton Borough Schools closed many the teachers and staff came to Pemberton Township.  I started teaching at the high school, teaching the Wilson Reading Program.   I taught in the high school for several years.  I then transferred to Harker-Wylie School.  I have been teaching here for 6 years. Orginally, when I came to Harker Wylie School, I taught in the kindergarten and 1st grade classes as the inclusion special education teacher. When an opening for a general education, 1st grade teacher became available I jumped at the chance to teach in a 1st grade general education classroom.  My passion is teaching reading and 1st grade is the grade where reading is so important. I love teaching 1st grade because it gives me a chance to help students love school and learn to think of school as a wonderful place to learn and grow, not only academically, but socially.

It is very important to me to have the parents involved in the learning process.  I like to tell the parents of my students , that they are the home team and I am the school team.  Together we can work to make our children successful!
