Ms. Amy Davis
From as far back as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about helping children. I became a teacher so that I could make a positive impact on the lives of many students. I quickly realized that building a rapport with my students was key to them reaching their fullest potential. Trust and respect are crucial to meeting success. I love having the opportunity to make a lasting impact, to act as a role model and mentor to our youth, and to alter a child’s perspective on what school can look like and positively impact the confidence they have in their own abilities. I love that I have the potential to inspire our youth to show compassion, speak on what they believe in, share their perspectives, and to accept and appreciate one another’s differences.
I’ve spent the last 19 years in the classroom and I’ve truly enjoyed every minute. Through the years, I’ve found that I’ve been drawn to helping the kids, both inside and outside of my classroom. Becoming Dean of Students will afford me the opportunity to work with students, parents, and teachers on creating an inclusive environment that can help every student meet with success.
I will be focused on implementing restorative practices in our building. Restorative practices are a mindset. It's a set of beliefs about why people choose positive behavior and the undeniable power of relationships. The goal is to have students take responsibility for his/her actions and then put in the work to repair harm as well as build and repair relationships. Every single one of us are important in our students' lives. Let's work together to make this the best year yet!
