Hi First Graders and Family!

 My name is Ms. Thompson.  I am so honored to be your child's first grade teacher this year. This will be my 4th year teaching 1st grade at Stackhouse and I am excited to continue building relationships this school year with awesome scholars like yours! I enjoy the beach, my dog, laughing with family/friends and writing! I received my Bachelors degree from Rowan University. I went on to earn my Masters degree in Elementary Education from Rider University. I previously worked in the ABA field as a Registered Behavior Therapist for learners with ASD and behavioral issues. 

As an educator, I believe in building a community with my students and their families in which ALL are welcome. First grade is such an exciting time and I look forward to working together to support your learner and their growing mind. My goal this year is to foster a love for learning in your child by creating small victories for my students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. 

I will use class Dojo for easy communication with parents. Feel free to reach out to me at any time. I am here for my students because I know a good teacher makes all the difference.  I am looking forward to a great school year, please practice reading with your child at home!
