Degrees and Certifications:
I began my teaching career in 1997. Over the years, I've taught children in grades PK-5th and adults. In 2002, I had the privilege of being trained as a Reading Recovery Teacher. Receiving intensive training in Reading Recovery for 8 years was truly rewarding. I currently teach Wilson Fundations and Just Words to students in grades 3rd-5th. Fundations provides more than 10 years of research based phonics and literacy programming and makes learning to read fun while laying down the groundwork for life-long literacy. Each lesson provides skill development in letter formation, phonological and phonemic awareness, sound mastery, phonics, vocabulary, trick (irregular spelled) words, fluency, comprehension, and written composition.
I love teaching and making learning fun! I also love the beach, my family, and animals. I have 3 dogs, a cat, and a rabbit who are my "children". I've lived in Browns Mills for 17 years and enjoy living in the community where I work. My favorite book characters are Pete the Cat and Danny.
I'm looking forward to another great school year!
