Office of the Superintendent
Jeff Havers, Superintendent
Jeff Havers has served as the superintendent of Pemberton Township Schools since February, 2021. Under his leadership, the district was designated as a “High Performing” school district by the 2022-2023 NJQSAC review process. His unwavering belief that students should demonstrate good character and create a culture of caring has led to every Pemberton school being named both a State and National School of Character.
His dedication to serving and supporting military connected families is unmatched, leading to his appointment as the New Jersey Commissioner to the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. He has implemented the Anchored4Life program in all district schools serving grades 3-12, providing comprehensive transition support to our military students. His commitment to military families has resulted in all 9 schools proudly earning the designation of “Purple Star” Schools by the NJ Department of Education.
Havers previously served as Pemberton’s assistant superintendent for preschool - 5th grade for five years. His management led to a significant increase in academic achievement and he was recognized as a Visionary Leader by the Burlington County Principal and Supervisors Association. During his tenure as assistant superintendent, Havers managed several significant projects and successfully guided students and staff through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and into a new chapter of growth and stability.
His additional experience in administrative roles includes serving as the principal of Berlin Community School in Berlin, NJ as well as the lead teacher/disciplinarian for the Hainesport Elementary School in Hainesport, NJ. He began his career in education as a 5th grade teacher before becoming a middle school social studies teacher.
He is a member of numerous educational and government relations committees on both the local and state levels, and is president-elect of the Learning Opportunity Impacted Schools Association, a subgroup of the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS).
