As technology continues to dramatically shift and change the way we communicate
and learn, Pemberton Township Schools remains in the forefront of using technology
in the teaching and learning process. The district computer-to-student ratio is
1 to 2.5, far surpassing the nationally prescribed goal of 1 computer for every
five students. In addition, the District Technology Plan provides for classroom
computers, mobile wireless laptop computer labs, stationary computer labs and state-of-the-art
media centers provide students across the district with Internet access and the
finest technology available.

Software programs currently in use include the CompassLearning Odyssey software
program, which is used throughout the district in kindergarten through eighth grades
and has been shown to be very effective in helping elementary school students progress
in both math and literacy. The OnCourse program provides teachers with web-based
technology to design lesson plans, post homework pages and individualized class
pages. The student information system, Genesis, provides a parent module that allows
parents to access their child’s grades, attendance and discipline information. As
well as serving as powerful communication tools, these technologies are helping
the district move toward becoming a paperless environment.
